Please Note – All animals in the T.I.H.A. Classes must be Traditionally Bred, in order to be eligible for the TIH category, equines must meet the following definition: “Have only the following breeds recorded in their pedigree Irish Sport Horse, Irish Draught, Thoroughbred, Connemara Pony. Do not have any foreign ancestors recorded in their back pedigree”.

*New for 2019: First & Second PRIZE Winners in T.I.H.A. Classes (Exception Classes 6 & 10) are eligible to compete for the TIH Supreme Championship – The Lady Hemphill Perpetual Memorial Trophy with a prize fund of €750

Class 1 . TIHA Yearling Filly

TRADITIONALLY BRED YEARLING FILLY Ring 1. Entry Fee €25

Aim of the Class: To promote the breeding of correct, athletic Traditionally bred horses with good movement and excellent conformation capable of excelling in the various disciplines. Prize Fund : 1st: €400, 2nd: €250 , 3rd: €100 , 4th : €50

Class 2 .

T.I.H.A. LIMERICK MATRON CHAMPIONSHIP. Entry Fee €25 KINDLY SPONSORED BY: Mr. Jim Bolger Prize Fund : Champion: €500 & The TIHA Perpetual Challenge Trophy, Reserve : €250, 3rd : €150 , 4th: €100 Best Turned Out : €100

Open to : (1.) Previous Limerick Lady Qualifiers (2.) Mares of traditional Irish breeding in foal or with a foal at foot that have been inspected by Horse Sport Ireland and achieved 1 to 5 Star Status

(3.) Thoroughbred mares in foal or with a foal at foot by: (a) Approved Irish Sport Horse Stallions provided that such stallions are of Thoroughbred/I.D. Cross (b) NA 1 Irish Sport Horse Stallions or similar classification. Animals must be approved and registered with a Society that maintains a breed for the Irish Sport Horse Breed, the Irish Draught Breed and the Connemara Breed. ( c ) Class 1 Connemara Pony Stallions (d) Class 1 Irish Draught Stallions or Class 2 Irish Draught Stallions registered and approved by a Society that maintains the afore mentioned. (4) Irish Draught Mares who have been registered in a Stud Book that maintains the Irish Draught Breed and achieved Class1 or RID Status, aged 3 years old and over , provided that they are in foal or have a foal at foot by (a) Approved Thoroughbred Stallions listed in the IHR that have reached minimum status (b) Approved Irish Sport Horse Stallions provided that such Sport Horse Stallions are of Thoroughbred/I.D. cross.

Class 3. TIHA Best Foal

T.I.H.A. BEST FOAL. SPONSORED BY : Mr. Jim Bolger Entry Fee : €15

Prize Fund: Best Filly Foal : €150 Reserve Filly Foal: €75

Best Colt Foal : €150 Reserve Colt Foal : €75

Foals must be out of participants of the T.I.H.A. Limerick Matron Championship 2019

Best overall foal will also be awarded the Major Jed O Dwyer Perpetual Challenge Trophy

Class 4.

T.I.H.A. LIMERICK LADY CHAMPIONSHIP Entry Fee €25 PRIZE FUND for Championship: Champion: €500 & the T.I.H.A. Perpetual Challenge Trophy, Reserve: €250, 3rd: €150, 4TH: €100. Best Turned Out Handler & Animal €100

Conditions for TIHA Limerick Lady Championship:

(a) For two year old Traditionally Bred Fillies, suitable for producing High Quality Traditionally Bred Sport Horses

(b)Fillies must have been registered as foals with a society that maintains its breed for - the Irish Sport Horse Breed, the Irish Draught Breed, the Thoroughbred Breed & the Connemara Pony Breed and MUST be by : APPROVED :(a) Thoroughbred Stallions, Connemara Stallions, ISH (TIH) Stallions, Irish Draught Stallions or (b) Any cross of the afore mentioned ( c ) Dams of the fillies must be by the Stallions as above and registered with a society that maintains its breed (d) All exhibitors must have their fillies passports available for inspection at the Qualifying show and at the Championship(e) Entry fee for the Qualifier is €15, Entry fee for the Championship is €25(f) More than one filly maybe selected at any qualifying show, provided that the standard of entries warrants such selection

(g) Should the standard of entries be insufficient, no filly will be selected (h) Infringement of these conditions or Championship regulations may lead to disqualification. Best Turned Handler & Animal €100.

Aim of Class: To identify the highly desirable , good looking, saleable horse of Traditional Irish Breeding with potential for a variety of fields and to assist the breeders/trainers and producers to present their 3 Year Old animals to the best advantage for modern competitions and the market place. Horses will be required to jump a fence on the lunge . (Max Height 90cms - 1m. approx. )

Prize Fund : 1st : €400 , 2nd €250, 3rd €150 4th € 100, 5TH €50, A photocopy of the traditionally bred FULL pedigree must accompany the entry form and the fee

Passports MUST be available for inspection on show day NO PASSPORT – NO SHOW!

Class 9.

T.I.H.A. HUNTER PERFORMANCE Sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland

Entry Fee €30

Aim of Class: to encourage a higher standard of production in the 5 year olds’ and upwards traditionally bred horses, with a view to increasing their market value for the home and export markets. Horses competing in this class should be quality animals, well mannered, athletic, careful and capable of jumping a course of fences to include working hunter /show jumping style (max. height 1m) .

They will be required to display smooth upward and downwards transitions to include leg yielding, lengthening and shortening at canter over fences , landing on correct leads and at all times showing good balance, self carriage and rhythm.

Marks will be awarded for the following:

- Fluency, Balance, Athleticism ( Ability/Scope), Accuracy, Technique, Movement, Attitude, Conformation and Ride-Ability.

Prize Fund: Champion: €600 and €150 to the breeder, Reserve: €400 and €100 to the breeder, 3rd: €250 and €50 to the breeder, 4th: €150 and €50 to the Breeder, 5th. €100 and €50 to the Breeder. Best Turned Out : €100

T.I.H.A SUPREME CHAMPION – The Lady Hemphill Perpetual Cup

Open to First & Second prize winners in T.I.H.A. Classes 1,2,3,4,5,7,8, and 9 Prizes : Supreme Champion: €500 & The Lady Hemphill Perpetual Memorial Cup Reserve Champion: €250

Class 10.

T.I.H.A. DERBY CLASS.

Entry Fee €20

Open to Traditionally Bred animals 4 years old and over. Riders must be over 16 years of age. Competitors will be required to jump a variety of fences . Average height 1m (approx.). In the event of equal scores – TIME will decide.

(Animals in this class are NOT eligible for the TIHA Supreme Championship)

Prize Fund:

1st €200, 2nd €100, 3rd €80, 4th €60 5th €40

A photo copy of the traditionally bred FULL PEDIGREE must accompany the entry form and the fee

Passports MUST be available for inspection on show day NO PASSPORT – NO SHOW!
