Limerick Show   SUNDAY  25th  August 2024

 

 Please Note – All animals in the T.I.H.A. Classes must be Traditionally Bred, in order to be eligible for the TIH category, equines must meet the following definition:

 “Have only the following breeds recorded in their pedigree Irish Sport Horse, Irish Draught, Thoroughbred, Connemara Pony. Do not have any foreign ancestors recorded in their back pedigree”. 

First & Second Prize Winners in T.I.H.A. Classes are eligible to compete for the TIH Supreme Championship – The Lady Hemphill Perpetual Memorial Trophy with a prize fund of €750

T.I.H.A YEARLING FILLY

Entry Fee €25

Traditionally Bred Yearling Filly:

Aim of the class: To promote the breeding of correct, athletic Traditionally bred horses with good movement and excellent conformation capable of excelling in various disciplines.

Prize Fund: 1st: €350, 2nd: €250, 3rd: 100

TIHA reserve the right to cancel this class if numbers are insufficient

T.I.H.A. LIMERICK MATRON CHAMPIONSHIP        

Entry Fee €25

Prize Fund:

Champion: €500 & The TIHA Perpetual Challenge Trophy

Reserve: €250, 3rd: €150, 4th: €100            

Best Turned Out: €100        

                                         

Open to:

(1.) Previous Limerick Lady Qualifiers

(2.) Mares of traditional Irish breeding in foal or with a foal at foot that have been inspected by Horse Sport Ireland and achieved 1 to 5 Star Status

(3.) Thoroughbred mares in foal or with a foal at foot by: (a) Approved Irish Sport Horse Stallions provided that such stallions are of Thoroughbred/I.D. Cross (b) NA 1 Irish Sport Horse Stallions or similar classification. Animals must be approved and registered with a Society that maintains a breed for the Irish Sport Horse Breed, the Irish Draught Breed and the Connemara Breed.  (c) Class 1 Connemara or Class 2 Connemara Pony Stallions (d) Class 1 Irish Draught Stallions or Class 2 Irish Draught Stallions registered and approved by a Society that maintains the afore mentioned.

(4) Irish Draught Mares who have been registered in a Stud Book that maintains the Irish Draught Breed and achieved Class1 or RID Status, aged 3 years old and over, provided that they are in foal or have a foal at foot by (a) Approved Thoroughbred Stallions listed in the IHR that have reached minimum status (b) Approved Irish Sport Horse Stallions provided that such Sport Horse Stallions are of Thoroughbred/I.D. cross.

(5). Mares & their Progeny from the T.I.H.A. Performance Mares Breeding Scheme are also eligible.

Entry Fee:  €15

Best overall foal will also be awarded the:

Major Jed O Dwyer Perpetual Challenge Trophy​

Prize Fund:

Best Filly Foal: €150           

Reserve Filly Foal: €75

Best Colt Foal: €150          

Reserve Colt Foal: €75 

Foals must be out of participants of the T.I.H.A. Limerick Matron Championship 2023

 The TIHA reserve the right to alter the above prize money in the     event of the Association being unsuccessful in sourcing a sponsor

T.I.H.A. LIMERICK LADY CHAMPIONSHIP

Entry Fee €25

Prize Fund:

Champion: €500 & the T.I.H.A. Perpetual Challenge Trophy

Reserve: €250, 3rd: €150, 4TH: €100. 

Best Turned-Out Handler & Animal €100.          

Conditions for TIHA Limerick Lady Championship: 

(a) For two-year-old Traditionally Bred Fillies, suitable for producing High Quality Traditionally Bred Sport Horses

(b)Fillies must have been registered as foals with a society that maintains its breed for -  the Irish Sport Horse Breed, the Irish Draught Breed, the Thoroughbred Breed & the Connemara Pony Breed and MUST be by :                                                                     APPROVED :

(a) Thoroughbred Stallions, Connemara Stallions, ISH (TIH)  Stallions,  Irish Draught Stallions or

(b) Any cross of the afore mentioned

(c) Dams of the fillies must be by the Stallions as above and registered with a society that maintains its breed

(d) NA 1 Irish Sport Horse Stallions or similar classification

(e) All exhibitors must have their fillies passports available for inspection at the Qualifying show and at the Championship

(f) Entry fee for the Qualifier is €15, Entry fee for the Championship is €25

(g) More than one filly maybe selected at any qualifying show, provided that the standard of entries warrants such selection   

(h) Should the standard of entries be insufficient, no filly will be selected                          (i) Infringement of these conditions or Championship regulations may lead to disqualification.

Charleville, Carnew, Cappamore, Clarecastle, Cloghervalley, Bandon, Midleton, Westport, Clonakilty, Loughrea, Longford,  Kildysart, Gorey, Saintfield, Athlone, Mullingar, Bailieborough, Nenagh, Dunmanway, Clonmel

Please Note:

  • A photocopy of the traditionally bred FULL PEDIGREE must accompany the entry forms and the fee

  • Passports MUST be available for inspection on show day NO PASSPORT – NO SHOW!

  • Closing Date August 17th.  2024 FOR ALL ENTRIES

PLEASE NOTE: THE TIHA RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ALTER THE ABOVE PRIZE MONEY IN THE EVENT OF THE COMMITTEE BEING UNSUCCESSFUL IN SECURING SPONSORSHIP
